Godson Browne

Godson Browne is a versatile and multi-talented musician.  His earliest memories of  playing on the ‘big stage’ was during his college days,  backing the likes of Chevelle Franklin and Junior Tucker.  Later, he co-founded the band ZAMAR which provided live backing for numerous local, regional and international artistes, including Lt. Stitchie, Emrand Henry, Joseph Niles, Lester Lewis and many more.  The band also opened for many Jazz acts such as Eddie Bullen, Arturo Tappin, Boo Hinkson, Barbera Cadet and Tessanne Chin. 

His early musical diet was that of Traditional and Contemporary Gospel.  This combined with his consumption of various Caribbean Styles, supplemented by strong doses of Jazz & Classical music, all influence his approach to playing, composing and arranging.  His musical education is inclusive of Classical music studies in ABRSM Percussion, Piano and Theory for which he has received various awards and recognitions for outstanding performances. 

Godson appears in various bands/ensembles.  Some of which involved opening for various International acts including Donnie McClurkin, William McDowell, Angelique Kidjo, Chrisette Michelle, Queen Ifrica, and Third World. 

In 2018, one of his songs was used for the opening of the Pure Grenada Music Festival.  He went on to perform some of his original Calypso/Jazz/Fusion compositions on the closing night, with original founding members of the band ZAMAR. 

Currently, he is a full-time Music Teacher, an active Performer with many top local acts, and an emerging Composer/Arranger.  When not musically engaged, he enjoys spending much of his time with his wife and sons. 

Javid Neckles

Legally named Jeavid Neckles. “Wiggy” as he is affectionately and popularly known, is Grenada’s gem on guitar, with his passion and love for music felt and shown with every performance, Jeavid has become the one highly spoken of when speaking of a musician that loves his music.

Jeavid’s love for music goes way back to his childhood years while being fascinated with radios and the sweet melodies he would hear. Learning to DJ was easy for him and that love for music drew him to his instrument (Guitar) that would now make him “the talk of the town”.

Jeavid’s accession to fame grew quickly, his soul piercing solos and emotions will capture you and so, he has been in high demands for recordings. He has played on some of the most popular calypso, soca and reggae recordings from top Grenadian Artistes such as : Boyzie, Lil natty and Thunder, Andrew Hitz, Laura Lisa, Ahkeem and Thamara songbird just to name a few.

But, Jeavid has done so much more. Playing for international names such as George Nooks, Luciano, skinny fabulous etc, making him the most versatile artiste on island.

Jeavid has made his name from the US to Dubai and according to him : “he has so much more to learn and so much more to show”. Jeavid or let’s call him as he’s known “Wiggy” is the one to watch!

Jerrod Nelson

Jerrod Nathan Nelson, affectionately known as “Rodey” in the musical circle of Grenada, has dedicated his lifetime to the Creative Arts in the form of his immense involvement in music. It is his passion and purpose. 

The 31 year old from La Sagesse in St. David  began his musical journey in the year 2004 at the La Sagesse New Testament Church of God. While his talent or (gift as he calls it) grew, so did opportunities as he was later selected to be the bassist for the N.T.C.O.G National Choir.  

Jerrod or Rodey has served in some of Grenada’s top bands over the course of his musical career.  He was the bassist and one of the founding members of the band “Soul Deep” and was also the bassist for the “Spice Rock” Band. Jerrod is currently the Musical Director and bassist for “Action Band”, the “Regeneration Band” as well as Octane The Band. 

Jerrod over the years has opened and backed many local, regional and international artistes across different genres. The likes of Tallpree, Lil Natty & Thunder, Mr. Killa, Dash, Bunji Garlin, Voice, Lyrical, Ronald Boo Hinkson, The British Collective, Malika Tirolien, Tarrus Riley, Beres Hammond, Joss Stone to name a few. Jerrod has also worked along with local and regional producers creating popular bass tracks in studio.  

Rodey is no stranger to Carols by Candlelight. He is an original member of The Carols by Candlelight Band since 2016 and is at present the musical director of its upcoming 2023 production.
